About Me

I am a mom of a college student, experiencing the woes and the joys of being an empty nester. I recently became a Stampin Up! independent demonstrator and am loving every minute of it.

Oh yeah I have a blog!

Well...I kind of forgot I was blogging now.  Honestly I haven't been creating much lately.  I am working on my niece's wedding invitations and that has taken priority over creating new cards/projects.  I'm not allowed to post a photo of them until they are sent out, so check back in August/Sept. to see them.

I've also been trying to get my space more organized and have realized I have too much stuff and not enough storage for it all. Unfortunately this means I end up with stacks and piles everywhere that tend to avalanche when I'm trying to create, thus making  a "hostile" work environment!  Ha!

Here are a couple cards I have made since the last time I posted. Hope you enjoy!

A birthday card I made for one of my husband's co-workers girlfriend.

This is a birthday card that I liked, but it just didn't seem "done" to me.  The following two shots are the transformation it went through to get the final card.

I posted the first picture on FB and asked what was missing.  Several replies suggested some flowers so I added flowers with some bling in the centers. In addition to some green ribbon.

Another suggestion was to give the butterflies antennae. So I added antennae which seemed to add the perfect final touch for the card. I love the way it turned out and really like the different textures.
I hope you like the cards!  I'm not feeling very "bloggy" today but wanted to get something up, so there ya go!  Until next time I wish you peace and joy.

Rainy days and Mondays

We don't usually have many rainy days in January here in NE Ohio.  But there it is...

Here is a little card I made to chase away the cold rainy Monday blahs.  It started out as a couple of white scrap pieces I found while cleaning up my crafting area.  When I came across them I thought to myself, "These look like clouds! When did I make clouds?" when I realized how they had come to be, I then thought, "I should make a card out of those." and one thing lead to another.  A sunny carefree day at the lake on a warm summer day...that's where I spent my cold, rainy Monday afternoon.  I hope you enjoy it:

Here are a couple more cards that I made yesterday:

Happy Birthday card using Stampin Up!'s new "Elementary Elegance" stamp set from the "Sale-a-Bration" event starting on Jan. 24th.

A quiet winter scene using a brayer to apply the background ink.  A shout out to my upline Linda for teaching me this technique.  The "Hello" is also from the "Elementary Elegance" SAB set.  The trees are from SU's "Lovely as a Tree" set.
